Cavities in Children Are Very Common

20% of children have an untreated decayed tooth. In fact, it's one of the most common chronic diseases among children. While a cavity isn't a reason to panic, it could be damaging to a child's development if ignored.

Cavities don't just decay teeth. They lead to pain and gum disease. For children, this may change their eating habits, speech patterns and affect their self-esteem. Even though a baby tooth with a cavity will eventually fall out naturally, the damage may already be done.
